Getting started
Lucas logs in to his bina classroom for a day of learning with his classmates. Lucas begins by reviewing timetable and making sure his learning area is ready.
A bina school day

Lucas's mom travels a lot for work, but their morning routine remains the same no matter where they are. After enjoying breakfast, Lucas gets dressed and joins his mom at their kitchen table, where she’s already started her work day. It's time for Lucas to begin his school day at bina! ✨

Social Emotional Learning
Lucas says hello to his teacher and five classmates. They take a moment to check in with each other about how they're feeling and then they do a stretching and breathing exercise.

Phonics
Time for a scavenger hunt! Lucas and his classmates each find three objects around their homes that include the “wh” sound. Lucas returns to his device with a whisk, a toy whale, and a Hot Wheels car. After sharing their findings, the students are guided to a phonics game to continue to internalise the “wh” sound in context.

Maths
After eating a snack, Lucas returns to his device to delve into one of his favourite subjects: maths. Today, they’re using objects from around their home to construct three types of 3D shapes.

Literacy
Storytime! Lucas loves snuggling up for a cosy read-aloud before lunchtime. Sometimes his teacher reads, but today he and his classmates are taking turns reading out loud-- they're reading a book about different types of pets.

Lunch
During their lunch break, Lucas and his mom pack up some sandwiches and head across the street to the park. They chat about Lucas’s favourite part of the morning, which he says was the Seesaw game they played during maths to practise with 3D shapes. They head back inside and Lucas gets settled in for some more learning.

Topic: Biome learning
Lucas and his classmates are off on a virtual field trip to discover their next biome unit location: the tundra. Come sail the seas with Lucas and his friends-- try out these interactive slides!

Playground
Playground is a chance for students to unwind and connect. While it's still teacher-led, students get to choose from a variety of exciting activities. During playground today, Lucas and two of his classmates play a game of virtual Pictionary while the other three practise an original puppet show.

Independent time
Lucas finishes up his Topic craft (a pair of cardboard binoculars), takes a photo of it, and posts it to Seesaw. His mom joins him to check on the feedback he’s already received from his teacher about his maths and literacy work from that morning. Lucas’s school day at bina is over, and there’s still plenty of time leftover before dinner to visit his favourite playground. On the way, Lucas chats excitedly with his mom about the science experiment his teacher has planned for tomorrow afternoon.
