People Ops Manager

As we grow our remote-first, globally distributed team, we’re looking for a strategic, systems-minded People Ops Manager to own and scale our people systems with empathy, rigour, and efficiency.

This is a rare opportunity to architect how we hire, support, and grow a world-class team of educators and operators—ensuring a joyful, human-centered team experience while building the backbone of a rapidly scaling global school.

We are looking for applicants who can start as soon as possible and can work full-time in Afro-European timezones (GMT +0:00 to GMT +2:00) or Eastern Timezone (GMT -3:00 to GMT -5:00).

Imagine a digital primary school with micro-classrooms of seven students from different corners of the globe, learning together with top-notch teachers. We go beyond academics, focusing on social-emotional learning and cultural and environmental awareness through biome-themed units. We're curating an intuitive educational experience by integrating Ed-tech tools, research, and content. It's a sleek schooling experience for students, educators, and families.

What does bina's People Ops Manager do?

As the People Ops Manager, you will design and implement foundational HR systems that are scalable, compliant, and deeply human. You’ll bring structure to ambiguity, build data-informed processes, and cultivate an inclusive, joyful work culture.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

🧠 Strategic People Operations

  • Build and scale hiring systems for educator and business roles, reducing time-to-hire while maintaining quality
  • Manage robust onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Own the structure for contract lifecycle management, compliance, and team transitions (e.g., promotions, timezone changes)

📈 Tracking, Data & Reporting

  • Build and maintain dashboards for hiring, leave cover as well as team cards
  • Partner with leadership to analyse people data and inform staffing decisions

🧑‍🎓 Talent Development & Performance

  • Support the creation and implementation of a performance management and growth framework for educators and staff
  • Help establish professional development pathways and learning opportunities

🤝 Culture & Employee Experience

  • Own company rituals, celebrations, and culture-building practices
  • Act as a trusted partner for conflict resolution, communication, and team wellness

You will be a great fit if you…

  • Bring strong character—empathetic, open-minded, and a true team player
  • Are an HR Swiss Army knife, with 5+ years’ experience spanning multiple areas of HR (recruitment, People Ops, learning & development), ideally in fast-growing or remote-first organisations
  • Have successfully designed and scaled people systems (e.g., hiring, onboarding, or performance frameworks)
  • Feel confident working with data, metrics, and dashboards to guide decision-making
  • Are highly organised, responsive, and able to stay calm under pressure
  • Communicate with clarity, warmth, and professionalism across cultures and time zones
  • Are a native or near-native English speaker with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Are excited to leverage AI and automation tools to optimise workflows and boost efficiency
  • Bring experience in the education or EdTech sector (a strong plus!)
